Plain-language experts with experience in your sector and document type carry out every assessment. Expert assessors peer review each assessment to make sure it’s consistent and fair.
Our assessors are plain language leaders with decades of combined experience. The team includes:
- Lynda Harris, the creator of the WriteMark®, founder of the Write Group, and winner of the Christine Mowat Plain Language Achievement Award
- Anne-Marie Chisnall, lead judge for the ClearMark Awards, and member of the advisory board of the Kimble Center for Legal Drafting
- Experts from all over the world, each with years of experience in plain language
Frances Gordon heads up plain-language assessments in the UK
Frances is the UK ambassador for the Plain Language Association International (PLAIN) and an expert contributor to the British Standards Institution for the international plain language standard, ISO 24495-1. With over 20 years’ experience in digital and print communication, she is a director of Narratology and holds workshops on writing in plain language.
